Meade School District's Teacher of the Year for 2020, Stacy Schuelke, and Cal Christensen, Professional-Technical Support Staff of the Year. Stacy is a teacher at Opal Elementary and Cal has been a long-time paraprofessional and now custodian at Piedmont Valley Elementary.
Building level nominees for Teacher of the Year included: Jennifer Loftin, teacher, Sturgis Brown High School; Brittainy Covel, teacher, Sturgis Elementary; Tawny Witty, special services teacher, Piedmont Valley Elementary; Loreena Larson, special services teacher, Sturgis Williams Middle School; Trent Doerges, Stagebarn Middle School and Stacy Schuelke, Rural Schools (Opal).
The building /department level nominees for Professional-Technical Support Staff of the Year included: Cal Christensen, custodian, Piedmont Valley Elementary; Alicia Harris, food service, Sturgis Elementary School and Becky Willuweit, paraprofessional, Sturgis Elementary.
