FERPA - Student Directory Information Requirements

IMPORTANT: Annual Consent for Student Directory Information (Grades 7–12 Only)

As we begin the new school year, the South Dakota Department of Education requires all school districts to annually obtain parental/guardian consent to share student directory information with the South Dakota Board of Regents (SD BOR), SD Technical Colleges, and other state agencies.

This requirement applies only to students in grades 7–12. Consent is no longer required at the elementary level.
