Meade School District 46-1 will have a 2-hour late start today, Friday, Dec 12, 2025. This includes Sturgis Elementary, Sturgis Williams MS, Sturgis Brown HS, Piedmont Valley Elementary, Stagebarn MS, Whitewood Elementary, and the rural schools. Busses will be running 2 hours later than normal.

Tonight is the night! Come enjoy Atall's Christmas Program at 6:00 at the Atall School! Temperatures look to hang in there just warm enough until later on this evening!

Families from across the Rural Meade School District gathered at Central Meade County School on December 4, 2025, for the Health and Fitness Family Fun Night, which focused on promoting literacy, wellness, and active lifestyles. The event featured 16 hands-on stations from Animal Adventure Yoga and Heart Beat Challenge to MyPlate, Sugar Detective, Bookmark Making, and Soft Shot Put, designed to help participants learn about literacy, fitness, nutrition, and healthy habits in an engaging, family-friendly setting.

Staff encouraged families to explore each activity together, strengthening connections while learning simple ways to enjoy reading together, stay active, and make healthier choices. Families were encouraged to continue practicing the healthy habits introduced at the event into the new year! Thank you to BH Reads and BHSSC Community and Family Services for helping us promote literacy and healthy activities! Mark your calendars for our next Family Fun STEAM Night on Thursday, February 5, from 5:00-7:00 at Central Meade County School.

Rudolph led the way as the Hereford students took off on the first of five rural schools' Christmas programs! 🎄From the sunny beaches of Hawaii 🌴, to the colorful streets of Mexico 🇲🇽, to cozy Germany 🇩🇪, they sang and shared Christmas cheer at every stop. What a magical way to kick off the holiday season! ✨

Join us this Thursday, December 4 from 5:00–7:00 PM at CMCS for our Rural Family Night of Health and Fitness! We’re getting ready for 2026 with an evening dedicated to fun, wellness, and togetherness. Families can rotate through interactive stations focused on physical activity, healthy habits, and nutrition. Bring the family for a night of movement and learning! We can’t wait to see you there!

Atall School was buzzing with excitement as grandparents filled the building for Grandparents Day. Students greeted their guests at the door with big smiles, proudly serving muffins and coffee, before guiding them through the classrooms. Grandparents took their time admiring artwork, writing pieces, and projects displayed around the school, pausing often to ask questions and celebrate their grandchild’s hard work. Laughter and conversation filled the school as students eagerly shared what they’ve been learning in reading, math, science, and more. It was a heartwarming afternoon that brought families together and showcased all the learning happening at Atall School. 💝

Governor Larry Rhoden and First Lady Sandy stopped by their hometown of Union Center this week to visit with students from our rural schools. It’s always special when our leaders take time to connect with the students and communities where their own stories began.

🍂 Fall Fest Fun for All! 🎯🎨 Fun was had by young and old at last week’s Fall Fest! From face painting and fishing to the cake walk, scarecrow crafts, Plinko, darts, hay ride, and the dunk tank…there was something for everyone to enjoy! A big hats off to Mr. Schuelke, Miss Marr, and Lincoln for bravely taking the plunge in the dunk tank! 💦 🤩Thank you to all our sponsors and CMCS Parent Club for making this fun community event possible! We appreciate you!

Rural Homecoming Fun! Central Meade School was full of spirit as we celebrated Homecoming! On Thursday, September 18, Sturgis Brown High School royalty visited and shared with us the importance of leadership and being involved in school activities. We even practiced some cheers to get ready for the big Pep Rally! Friday kicked off with an energetic Pep Rally that got Hereford and CMCS students fired up for the parade and football game. Students enjoyed fun team-building games before heading to Sturgis to decorate our very first Homecoming float! This year’s parade theme was Disney, and we proudly represented 101 Rural Meade Students—all dressed as Dalmatians and showing off our creative dog houses designed during STEAM. Each of our five rural schools painted and decorated a dog house to represent their school. After the parade, some students stayed to cheer on the Sturgis Scoopers while others returned to school. It was a fantastic day filled with school spirit, teamwork, and laughter. A huge thank-you to all the teachers and staff who helped make this day such a memorable one!
