Sturgis Brown High School

Sturgis Brown Choirs Spring Concert will be held on April 28 at 7:00 PM.

South Dakota School of Mines & Technology hosted iNSPIRE by Omnitech for area 8th-12th grade girls. A group of Sturgis Brown High School students had the opportunity to engage in workshops and meet with local professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This year's iNSPIRE keynote speaker was Melissa Johnson, creative genius behind ventures like Oh My Cupcakes, Sweet Cream Candle Co. and Melissa J. Creative.

This week's Kwik Mart/KBHB Athlete of the Week is Jace Thurman of the Scooper Baseball Team. Jace went three for four at the plate vs. Douglas and is batting .760 on the season. Way to go Jace!!!!

Hello! The school board approved an amendment to the 2024–25 school calendar at the Monday, April 14 board meeting. The final day for students will now be Tuesday, May 20, with a 2-hour early release. This week's KBHB/Kwik Mart Athlete of the Week is Jude Legner of the Sturgis Track and Field Team. Jude won the 200 meters in a time of 23.51 at  the West River Preview last week! Way to go Jude!

Students of the Month for March are 9th grade - Charlee Bierle; 10th grade - Bree Wilson; 11th grade - Iris Zylstra; 12th grade - Paige Gillespie; Staff - Steve Hilton. The Coffee Shop at Hotel Sturgis provided gift certificates for the recipients.

This week's Kwik Mart/KBHB Athlete of the Week is Dalyn Dschaak of the Scooper Baseball Team, who had a single and a double on three plate appearances vs SF Washington. Way to go Dalyn!!!

National Honor Society Induction

Sturgis Brown High School recognizes students for their hard work and academic achievement. Merit Honor Roll is a recognition given to students who achieve a 3.0 - 3.49 grade point average. High Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved a 3.5 - 4.0 grade point average. Congratulations to the SBHS Second Term Fall Honor Roll students.

SBHS presents The 2025 Scoop Revue on March 17 and 18 at the Sturgis community Center Theater. Doors open at 6:40 PM and show starts at 7:00 PM.

Kwik Mart/KBHB Athlete of the Week is Kierra Killinger of the Sturgis Scooper Girls Basketball Team! Kierra led the Scoopers with 10 points in their SoDak 16 matchup with Sioux Falls O'Gorman. Way to go Kierra!!!

KBHB/Kwik Mart Athlete of the Week is Kelson Dirk! Dirk was one of two Scoopers to bring home a championship trophy from the State Wrestling Tournament, claiming the 190 pound title.

Kwik Mart/KBHB Athlete of the Week is Tyler Baldwin of the Sturgis Scooper Wrestling Team! Tyler defeated the top ranked 113 pound wrestler and defending state champ at the regions last weekend. Congratulations Tyler!
