• Our department is self-supporting. We receive no funding from local tax dollars!
• Almost 60% of our revenues are received from local families, when meals are purchased for children. The other 40% comes from federal reimbursements for free/reduced lunches. We earn every dollar before we receive it!
• Most of our revenues are used locally – to pay staff, purchase food and supplies, and purchase and maintain equipment. We are truly a local business!
• Our current meal debt is about $40,000. If a child has no money on their account, we have no way of recovering the food and staffing costs incurred in serving that child.
