To Our Incredible Military Kids,
April is a special month dedicated to celebrating you
the strong, brave, and resilient children of military families.
Today, on Purple Up! Day, we wear purple to honor your courage,
your sacrifices, and the important role you play every single day.
Whether it's moving to a new place, making new friends,
or supporting a parent who serves, you show strength in ways that inspire us all.
Please know that you are seen, valued, and appreciated more
than words can express. Your bravery does not go unnoticed,
and your story matters.
Thank you for your strength, your resilience, and your heart.

The Department of the Air Force School Liaison Program theme for 2026 is “Stronger Together – The Power of Community.” Please wear purple on Friday, April 10th.

Great job to the SWMS Track & Field team at their first meet yesterday! We came away with 17 1st place finishes, many personal bests, and 1 new school record. Congratulations to Spencer Proefrock for setting the new 7th grade girls 100m hurdles record, beating the 26-year-old record by a full second.

Today students at SWMS enjoyed Kumquats as a snack. Did you know that you absolutely can eat kumquat skin! In fact, you are meant to eat the whole fruit—peel and all—as the skin is sweet while the inside is tart, creating a perfect sweet-sour balance. Simply wash the fruit, and pop it into your mouth to enjoy, often leaving the seeds out.

Dear Parent/Caregiver,
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the Meade School District 46-1 is conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education to monitor our progress in creating a positive school experience for you and your child(ren). Your feedback is crucial in helping the Meade School District identify areas for recognition and improvement.
The survey will ask you to select the school your child(ren) attends. Once you complete the survey for 1 school, you will have the option to provide feedback on another school, if you have a child at another school in the district. Providing feedback to each school should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit.
The survey is scheduled for 3/16/2026 through 3/25/2026.
To maintain confidentiality of the Parent/Caregiver Survey, our partners at Studer Education will be administering the survey, managing the data collection, and aggregating the data to provide results reports to leaders.
